Scarcity of Water in Mizoram

Water is very important for every human being. We need water in our everyday life to survive. Meanwhile water scarcity is a major issue in Mizoram especially in the urban areas. The problem has become so severe that in many urban areas the ground water has almost dried up and people have to depend on water supply from other sources.Water scarcity is a fundamental issue faced by almost all the people across the world.one of the main causes of water scarcity is that people did not know how to manage water and due to increase in population the demand of water is increasing day by day but the government cannot relieve the need of water to the people. Especially in Mizoram almost all the people of Mizoram depend on water supply from the government. But due to urbanization and increase in population the supply of water from the government is not enough to the people. So, some people have to pay for waters while others have to bear the hardship of bringing them from nearby ponds and lakes. Scarcity of water leads to sanitation problem by forcing people to drink unsafe water and when water is scarce people try to store it at home, which increase the risk of water contamination and this creates breeding grounds for mosquitoes, which transmit dengue and malaria. scarcity of water also effects the supply of power as water is the main sources of power supply in Mizoram. Due to scarcity of water people are more likely to get diseases from the water. Water scarcity also effect the agriculture because to produce a lot of vegetables and foods need more water supply.   It is very clear to everyone that water is very necessary for the existence not only for the human beings but also for all the living things. So, we all must understand the importance of water and try our best not to involve in the wastage of water but to involve in saving it. We should save our clean water from the contamination and getting polluted from the waste material like industries. The main reason of water scarcity is due to increase of population, industries and urbanization. Due to scarcity of water people cannot fulfill their basic needs.                   To conclude water scarcity has become a more dangerous problem day by day. So, awareness about the scarcity of water should be given to the people and the people should inform about the effect and causes of water scarcity. If we do not take the problem of scarcity of water seriously our future generation will have to face the problems that we are facing today. So, everyone should take step in the prevention of water so that the next generation will not face the problem of scarcity of water.
